Description
Titanium powders are highly sought-after for their lightweight, strong, and corrosion-resistant properties, making them ideal for use in demanding industries. Our Titanium Powders are produced using a proprietary hydride / de-hydride (HDH) process, which offers a wide range of particle size distribution options. This production process is both sustainable and scalable, making it a cost-effective alternative to other Titanium powder production technologies.
Our powders are being used effectively in diverse medical, aerospace, and industrial applications.
Hydride-Dehydride (HDH) Titanium Powder Processing
Our Hydride-Dehydride (HDH) process leverages the brittle nature of metal hydrides, which are milled, classified, and processed to achieve precise particle size distributions (PSD) and desired morphologies, including angular, equiaxed, and sponge-like structures.
Following sizing, hydrogen is removed through controlled vacuum and heat treatment to produce finished powders with excellent flowability, purity, and performance characteristics. Additional processing steps, such as magnetic separation and acid washing, ensure removal of contaminants and consistent material quality.
Kymera produces powders down to 325 mesh (45 microns), supporting a wide range of powder metallurgy and near-net shape manufacturing applications.
Characteristics
- Titanium Sponge Powders produced using HDH have particles with internal porosity and higher surface area, making them suitable for specialized applications
- Both Mg and Na reduced titanium sponge powders are available, enabling optimization of the powder porosity
- These powders are supplied to meet medical ASTM F1580 chemistry requirements
- Certified in NADCAP-accredited laboratory
